Common questions about how pricing works
How do you count a connector?
A connector is one technology at one IP address. One database instance is one connector no matter how many databases, schemas, or tables sit inside it. A different technology at the same address, or the same technology at a different address, counts as a separate connector.
How do you count a user?
We license author users who actively build and manage governance, including stewards, curators, data owners, and admins. The base license includes 1,000 reader users at no additional cost, with additional readers available in packages as adoption grows.
Are there different kinds of users?
Yes. Author users create and maintain governance content and require a license. Read and query users only consume that governance, such as analysts and business users, and are included with your license.
What counts as an add-on?
Add-ons are optional capabilities layered on top of a connector, such as automated lineage or data quality. You add them only where you need them, and they never change how connectors or users are counted.
Does my price change as I catalog more data?
No. Cataloging, classifying, and stewarding more assets inside a connector you already license doesn't change your price. You're licensed for connectors and users, not for the volume of data governed.
Can I add capabilities later?
Yes. Every capability lives on the same platform and data model, so you can add connectors, users, or add-ons as your program grows without a separate implementation.
